I normally like my watches to be as simple as possible this company's watch is the exception

Since I began writing for Insider Picks, I’ve learned and written a lot about watches.

Admittedly, I was a slow convert to the accessory at first. As I’ve said before, I thought wearing a watch was a statement of sorts; a subtle way of telling both yourself and the world around you, "I have places to be and specific times I'd like to be there by." And while I still believe that to be true, to an extent, the functionality of watches is now very evident to me.

As a rule, I find myself more drawn to simple designs; function is most important, as I don’t think I have the swagger necessary to pull off some of the more flashy designs you’ll see on the market. And while I love a good gimmick or bit, I was never one to wear a calculator watch, despite them being objectively cool.

This mindset is why I was so struck by LTHR Supply and the company's new T1.1 watches. As you can see, the design consists of three wheels that rotate and align with each other to read out hours, minutes, and seconds. The T1.1 watches immediately grabbed my attention, as they are something I hadn’t yet seen, and while a bit offbeat, these watches are clean and functional. They are unique without being gaudy; they draw your attention without demanding it. And in the best possible way, I find their constant motion a bit hypnotic.

LTHR Supply says that its products are "shaped around our team's mutual passion for minimalist, unconventional design," and states their goal is to create "a collection of modern objects offering clean lines, unexpected details, and timeless charisma." In my opinion, the T1.1 watches are proof the Boston-based design team accomplished their goal.

These watches definitely won’t be for everyone, and if you’re looking for a simple, standard timepiece there are tons of great options that will suit your needs just fine at various price points. But at just under $200, if you’re looking for something different to wear on your wrist that succeeds in both form and function, the LTHR Supply T1.1 might be right for you.

LTHR Supply T1.1, $199.98, available at Huckberry.
